2020 Quilceda Creek “CVR” Red Wine
The Sum of Parts
“CVR” stands for ‘C’est Vin Rouge’ (‘it’s red wine’) in French, and our 2020 Quilceda Creek CVR Red Wine combines lots from our estate vineyard sites, including Champoux, Mach One and Galitzine. 2020 was a relatively warm year, with a few heat spikes in late July and early August and a hot beginning of September. October temperatures were above average, allowing for extended hang time and optimal ripeness. The resulting wine displays concentrated aromas and flavors of black, blue and red fruits, with nuances of cocoa and vanilla bean, roasted herbs and minerals. This blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc is a beautiful example of our CVR and a first look at the exceptional quality of the 2020 vintage. Drink now - 2040.
