Quilceda Creek
“CVR” Red Wine

This is the first wine to be released from the impeccable 2022 vintage. The growing season started with a cool and wet spring, which led into above average temperatures that continued through October. These conditions, coupled with our precise farming practices, were ideal for fruit development and extended hang time, resulting in optimal ripeness.

"The producer’s bottling from younger vines, the 2022 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine blends 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot this vintage. Typically released before Thanksgiving, it offers insanely perfumed aromatics atop plushy tannins, giving way to a pillowy, full-bodied mouthfeel. Red fruit is supported by these soft tannins and well-integrated oak, making it more approachable in its youth. Still, it’s got 10+ years to go in bottle."

"This bursts with ripe cherries, currants, dried blood oranges, hints of walnuts, red licorice and earthy nuances. The palate is broad and textured with medium to full body, firm and well-structured tannins and a generous core of fruit. The lingering finish has zesty and spicy undertones. Very attractive. 90% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc, 3% merlot and 2% petit verdot. Drink or hold."

"This 2022 edition of the CVR has 5% Cabernet Franc blended in from the Champoux Vineyard as well as 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Beautiful dark florals mark the nose alongside crème de cassis, Asian spices and shades of sagebrush. Silky and soft on the mouth, this shows good flavor density with its core of mocha and dark fruits. Despite the coolness of the vintage this has plenty of stuffing. Delicious now, enjoy over the next ten years to come. Drink 2024-2034."
